Everybody knows that five is getting a revamp in the spring, possibly to coincide with the arrival of neighbours (but not confirmed).

But would five bring back its famous five colours?

Watching the new neighbours promo, if you pause the tv when the balloons/fireworks burst in the air it shows the old five colours of orange, green, yellow, pink and blue, but in a different order than they used to be.

Could this be a clue???

I don't think five are that clever, are they?

Very cryptic.

The problem that I have with five is their programme trailers; vile little pieces of cack they are. Everything else I can stand.

How so exactly? I think they're quite creative.

I don't think it means anything.

Channel 4 have (sort of) brought the colours back to their logo for the titles of The TV Show, but haven't brought the colours back to the channel.

Was there actually ever a reliable source claiming five was getting a new look? As far as I know it's just speculation built around the fact Neighbours and the new Five News are launching at the same time, and people are taking it as fact.

'Vile little pieces of cack'!? sounds like you've got an axe to grind somewhere!

Always thought that five's trails were the best terrestrially, the whole presentation scheme is pretty good and coherant too.

I'm not sure five actually got rid of their colours - I'm sure in the blurb about the new look when it first launched they claimed that the colours would continue to be used on the break flashes - it's now just a case of various flashes in different colours though.

Haven't they put back the new look until the Autumn at the earliest?

I'm sure that I read somewhere that they were only just looking at proposals. Obviously I could be proven wrong.

I'm not sure that I'd put it into those particular words, but the trailer end boards are so boring for the fact that they haven't changed since they launched.

Saying that, they're still probably better than the current ITV1 endboards.

You could be right, I cant actually remember if there was anything official about this now. I just thought it to be quite strange because I hadnt seen the colours together since the revamp a few years back, but I could be wrong.

I looked back at the old five thread and found the original spurce from September 2007.

Digital Spy posted:
Five is understood to be planning a channel revamp next year, when Australian soap Neighbours joins the channel.

According to Broadcast, the channel is looking at March or April for the revamp, which will include new branding and a relaunched Five website, with an extended online video-on-demand service.

So it seems a branding revamp is on the cards but I don't think it will be time for Neighbours or the new look Five News although saying that Five haven't release any info regarding Neighbours or Five News so the new look could reveal in the next few weeks.

Oh, OK. If Digital Spy say's so... Rolling Eyes
