Five have parted company with their director of programmes Dan Chambers after a decline in audiences.
Five's all hours share is down 14% compared to October 2005. Year on year comparisons for the first 10 months of 2006 are little better - Five is down by nearly 11% on the same period of 2005.
The strategy to move upmarket and the introduction of arts and history documentaries is deemed to have failed. It's homegrown dramas and comedies have made virtually no impact and they haven't been able to produce a single stand out or recurring series.
What next for Five ? And what exactly have they given to the British TV landscape other than CSI & Home & Away ?
