"Well, what a week it's been already, Saddam captured, Sam out of Pop Idol..."
Er, yeah like both matter to an equal extent! This woman I never used to find as annoying as I do now with gems such as that and this from last week...
"More on the death of those American soldiers in Iraq later... anyway... Last night's Corrie... did you see Martin..."
I wish everyone would stop criticising Fiona, she has a unique personality. You maybe don't like her, fair enough, but there are people who do like her.
Fiona Phillips is probably a very nice person. But on GMTV she is a bimbo who makes ridiculous comments all the time and is useless at presenting. I get irritated when I see her on GMTV Today, and look forward to Friday desperately. She is the one of two things that make GMTV bad. The other is Keith Chegwin. Both should go and present BBC Breakfast and let Kate and Carla take over female presenting on GMTV.

Oh really, some people just don't get it do they ? I'll have to defend the lovely Fiona here a minute.
Yes, she has an air of unprofessionalism about her, she can be a bit dizzy, but for me that's her appeal. Is there a rule that says all people in front of a TV camera have to be straight laced and boring ? And anyway, GMTV has never been all about hard news or all about fluffy showbiz, it's a mixture. I think the bits quoted by the originator of this thread are actually very witty.
She is unlike anyone else on TV and her comments always raise a smile, we shouldn't knock her for being unique. Anyone who doesn't like the Pop Idol story being given similar status to the Saddam capture probably shouldn't be watching GMTV, this is nothing new.
