tvarksouthwest will love this thread. He will undoubtedly moan that the tes card is not shown enough these days. What's more interesting, test cards or programmes?

Bring back the testcard! It must be used to fill N24 slot in the mornings - who watches it anyway?

* Also guys, i know i really coked up over the whole BBC News thing. If you want me to b*gger off for good - please say so. i'd rather be told to go away than be on the end of the abuse stick. *

There is a place in the schedules for both. Especially now ITV Play is coming off air... Laughing

Now this will cause some people a great deal of amusement but would you believe I was terrified of test card F when I was very young? I soon got over that, however, but still preferred the PM5544.

Testcards are pointless in this digital day and age. Is it really that hard to switch to an automated system and show reruns during late night?

Is it really that hard to set one's PVR or VCR if one wants to see re-runs overnight? Twisted Evil

The all-time classic testcard ... in widescreen. And that god forsaken bloody clown puppet is still EVIL as ever.

It's EVIL I tell ya!

EVIL!

If the programme in question hasn't been shown in "normal time" on free-to-air TV for years, then no. If you've got enough tuners.

But it still needs to be shown for you to set up your PVR/VCR/DVDR for you to record it Smile

And it's a very handy time to broadcast programmes with people wavng their hands in front of them!

I certainly find this one more scary after Life On Mars.

I think it's the frequency broadcast with it which makes it more scary.

The point for test cards is to help set up your digibox and telly to make sure they're using the right aspect ratio, phasing, colour etc. It's not there just for decoration.
