The ITV 1989 generic look gave a clock to all regions who still had one-the 1999 look didn't. Thank heavens for Channel, the only ITV company left to include one.
No,I don't think they would include a clock now-in 1991 iit was for the afternoon news bulletin
s
, and closedown.
Now it's used for none of those, just for news switching channels for Wimbledon.

Any screen grabs of the current channel clock

I think whether we get an ident at closedown on Sunday depends on whether they overrun or not. If everything runs to schedule there should be a final ident at 2.55am; it things overrun even slightly then they'll probably just run a few trailers into the Learning Zone.
Just got this reply for the BBC, after I e-mailed them a couple of weeks ago asking for information on a relaunch. I usually get replys from this address within 3 days, this one took nearly 2 weeks!

Dear Mich,
Thank you for your e-mail regarding the change of the BBC TWO Idents.
As you already know we are introducing updated on-screen idents for BBC TWO from Monday 19th November 2001. They will replace the current versions which have been on air for over ten years. These will give the channel a new, contemporary look, but will very much keep the wit and personality of the current idents. We hope that viewers will enjoy them as much as the old ones. Unfortunately, there are no plans at the moment to show the discontinued idents.
I have looked into finding out a little bit about the old logo's for you and have managed to find the following information. The only information I could find on BBCi can be located at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/tv/gallerytwo/index.shtml
I am sure however that if you do a further search you will be able to find some more information.
Since the Channel's launch in 1964 there have been six different incarnations of the BBC TWO on screen identity - all animated:
from 1964 - the original black and white logo
from 1967 - a red, blue, green, red and white logo introduced with the advent of colour broadcasts
in 1974 - a blue and white striped logo
from 1980 - an orange and white striped logo: the first computer generated ident
in 1986 - a red, white and blue version using the word 'TWO', rather than the figure 2
from 1991 - the current identity
Here are some of the unofficial links I found in my search:
