Exactly I look at that BBC on Television Centre and it's all wrong.
Pretty much from the day it opened up until the early 90's BBC TV Centre had lettering like this.

When they adopted this logo http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n211/cylon1_2006/BBC_OLD1.gif
It was the first time I can remember the lettering on TV Centre ever changing to reflect this.

It's the old BBC logo (slanted letters in straight boxes), but not the original one that appeared on TV Centre.
Until the mid 90's there wasn't a BBC logo on the wall, it was just written in the same typeface that everything else at TVC was.
It looked to me like they'd super-imposed the old logo onto the squares, they don't look clear enough to be really on the building

Who is Mary Whitehouse and what is the programme about?

I'm in two minds about whether to watch this programme.
If it portrays her as if she was just a "quaint, harmless, eccentric prude" or something, I'll be really annoyed.
Clearly, anyone that can see "filth" in most of the things that she did, has got to be looking really hard , and choosing to interpret things in a way that no level-headed person would. Therefore, ironically, she must've been the most filthy-minded person of all!
I understand that she was a "fanatical right-wing Christian" (etc) sort-of a person - and there's nothing "harmless" about that.
There's something seriously wrong with any human being who is intolerant, does not respect the ideal of free-speech, etc etc etc.
I hope that the programme deals with her story with the dark, serious tone that it deserves, rather than in a light-hearted way. And certainly shouldn't ask the viewer to empathise with her twisted perspective.
Anything that isn't white, heterosexual, middle-class, tory, and Christian, is "evil" in the contorted mind of somebody like Mary Whitehouse - She was the personification of the Daily Mail!
But, of course, she was "perfectly entitled to her wrong opinions!"

She did once complain about being "palmed off by the Director General of the BBC". So she clearly didn't mind going for the odd bit of filth herself

Apparently it's not particularly faithful to the true Mrs Whitehouse. You might be interested in the preview I read today here:
