Freeview veiwers are now one small step closer to getting a very proper film channel. And that channel is FilmFour. After reinstalling the channels on my Freeview box, FilmFour appeared in place of More4 +1. Very Happy

I'm still very sceptical that your phrase will come true, though.

I have a feeling that the version of Film Four which will appear without subscription will be a pale imitation of its former self.

Ooh, you're full of optimism today aren't you? Wink

Channel Four seems to have a pretty good track record for adding decent content to Freeview on its own branded channels. Even if FilmFour does turn out to be a bit poo, it's refreshing to have a Freeview channel launching which isn't related to shopping or gaming.

So will film four be free on NTL?

Not worth a new thread, but Sky Text now has it's own channel number to on 108.

I've just rescanned the freeview decoder on my iDTV and also found FilmFour on Ch31. Seems abit premature seeing as the message says it's not there until 31 July.

I'll wait to see what FF is like as a free-channel, but I think until there are a few more better channels I'll stick with Sky (and their extortionate cost) Rolling Eyes

Yes, Film Four is going Free to view on all platforms, Film Four Weekly is closing down, AIUI Film Four +1 is to be retained on Sky and NTL, like More4 +1.
