Looks like they're really upping their game according to Broadcast:

In The House…with Film24

Brand new to Film24 is ‘In The House’ a weekly movie talk show hosted by two legendary Hollywood insiders: editor-in-chief of Variety, Peter Bart, and veteran film producer, Peter Gruber.

Each half hour show features interviews with high profile guests live in the studio and a look behind the scenes in Hollywood.

Interviewees come from the Hollywood A-list and in the forthcoming series include Morgan Freeman, Kathryn Bigelow, Quentin Tarantino, Sigourney Weaver, Harrison Ford and Jeff Bridges to name but a few.

In The House is a talk-show for people who love film and wish to learn more about the business of movie making. Packed to the brim with interviews, observations, insider revelations, analysis of current trends and showbiz news, it is a must-see for serious film fans.

Peter Bart and Peter Gruber previously hosted the Emmy® nominated ‘Shootout’ for six years.

In The House begins on Film 24 on Tuesdays at 7.00 p.m. from 27th April 2010, and is part of a major new acquisition deal with leading British independent distributor, that will see 65 new hours of programmes on Film 24. Other highlights will include profiles on Elizabeth Taylor, the country music scene in Nashville, James Dean, and Steven Speilberg, as well as a 13 part series Red Carpet Romance, and is part of Film24’s new acquisitions strategy, that will see it invest 1.5 million in new programmes this year.

Who owns Film 24? I've never even heard of it. I suppose it's only on Sky, and is very middle-of-the-road - as in, not as good as ITV2, not as awful as FriendlyTV, thus nobody knows of it?

Film 24 is a good channel with a terrible name. Even though this film programme doesn't really interest me, it is nice to hear they are doing live programming. They show a few Southern programmes and I always try to catch an episode of each to see whether I want to watch the whole series or not.

I thought it was Film4 when I first read the thread title.

Isn't Film 24 the name of a programme on News 24?

Yep, airs on Friday afternoons usually. Bizarrely it's still called Film 24 despite the actual channel ditching the "24" brand nearly 2 years ago.

Any idea what's happened to ' Freewheelers' & 'Dick Barton' ?

I was trying to catch the Sunday afternoon showings & they've disappeared.

Shouldn't the title of this thread really be "Film 24 buys in someone else's chat show"? It sounds as if Film 24 have bought the rights to show a US chat show - rather than commissioned or made it themselves?

I've spotted graphics on there by a forum member Lee Seaman.

I'm told they're rebranding to "F24" since they don't just talk about films anymore. If you're going to make the effort, at least rebrand to something different; F24 is no more logical since they don't broadcast 24 hours a day and a lot of it is teleshopping.
