The UK in Crimewatch was always superfluous too

Jack Dee: "Crimewatch UK? It's hardly likely to be Crimewatch Peru, is it?" I'll never tire of that gag.

I guess the idea was to make it sound topical and up to date, of course those days there'd be a lot of re-releases in the pictures as well. Funnily enough I used to get The Topper when I was a kid and in 1989 they changed the name to, yes, Topper 89, presumably because it felt a bit old hat and it was a way to tell the hip young kids that this wasn't the boring old Topper of the fifties (although, actually, I quite liked the boring old Topper). Then in 1990 it became, yes, Topper 90. And then it folded.

There was the all new 'Wide Awake Club for the 90's' too, called WAC90, which I'm pretty sure started in 1989

It did indeed, in September 1989. And Radio 1 revamped the teatime Newsbeat to become News 90/91/92/93. As you can see, it felt very exciting to be in the nineties. You probably had to be there, though.

Not too much to say about this clip but there's not much mention of Norman's time at Sky online. This clip I uploaded several years ago, I didn't realise until now that he had more than one show on Sky, one is Film Night (as seen on the menu) and Barry Norman Interviews to which most of the opening titles are on the clip. Sorry to say he didn't last more than a couple of years at Sky, one of the main reasons for leaving the BBC was the scheduling of the Film show.

There are some low res pictures of the Film Night set here.
