Caught this last night. Didn't know it was going to be live (complete with tweets from viewers), and was absolutely mesmerised with Ms Winkleman.
As presenters go I appreciate she may be marmite (and I makes no bones about loving this marmite), but she's amazingly slick and completely engaging with her guests, including really (and I mean REALLY) listening to them. She clearly knows her stuff too - references to directors, older films and actors were met with a relevant observations, even when faced with experts as she was last night.
She goes from that seamlessly into the next link and managed to hold the timing together in a way that made me think the show had been through an edit.
She's different class. That's what I think.
Wossy wrote a good review, but in comparison his show lacked real passion and seemed plodding, now I have something else to measure it against.
