If you want to see the Swedish version - not called 15 to 1 because they have fewer contestants - which is called Vem Vet Mest? (Who Knows Most?) have a look here : http://www.svt.se/vem-vet-mest/se-program/del-60-7?autostart=true

I quite like it - think they've kept the format but modified the set to suite the market.

The main theme is pretty good, a shame they've got rid of the start/end round music in favor of a crap cut from the main theme.

Toksvig is alright; takes it quite seriously.

The pace is off. An hour is too long. The whole "lights off" thing is superfluous. Actually makes the programme feel less brutal.

Podiums are much better than the pilot (and it helps they've told contestants to keep their hands off them) but still too small for my liking.

It's hard to find any specific element which I think is better than the way it was before. I just hope Challenge buy up an older series (they'd be silly not to).

45 minutes would have been a fine compromise and get it back alternating with Countdown.

I'd feel that could damage Countdown even more though as the existing audience would get out the habit of watching it and might end up not coming back.

The trouble is thanks to the wise folk at C4 Countdown is struggling now so actually less may be more in the short term at least. It would be quite wrong IMO for C4 to axe Countdown considering most of it's current problems are of their making, but scaling down the number of episodes would make sense.

On many an occasion the only thing saving Countdown from the axe was the prospect of it transferring to ITV straight away. I'm not sure the appetite is still there for it.

Would ITV not have the right to do that as each contract expires? Is it subject to some sort of grandfather rights arrangement which means they can't do that?

Also if it wasn't doing the business for Channel 4 why would ITV want or Channel 4 be worried about them taking it?

The only thing wrong with the new 15 to 1 in my view, is that it's missing the announcer saying after the last contestant, 'Are all here to play...15 to 1'.

The Adam Hills celebrity version has a set similar to his 80's night celebrity special, but with a few of the problems sorted and the podiums from the Sandi Toksvig era.
