FIFA World Cup 2014 - Brazil

This article ignores the fact that the BBC will cover every match on radio as well as the half it will cover on TV. Given that, as well as the Worldwide programmes the BBC will produce, a team twice as big doesn't seem so large.

So he won't travel to Brazil, I wonder if he'd be willing to travel to Donnybrook in Dublin, although I'm not sure RTÉ would want him on their panel.

They probably couldn't afford him.

Roy Keane strikes me as a perfect fit for RTE's more confrontational (and interesting) punditry. I imagine he'll be looking at a new full-time managing job instead though.

He perfectly fits their style, but whether he would work for them (or they could afford him) I don't know.

There's no gap anyway while Eamonn Dunphy remains, though this World Cup will be Bill O'Herlihy's last and I suspect it won't be long till both John Giles and Dunphy follow him into retirement - incredibly they will have done every major tournament (and the vast majority of qualifiers) since Mexico 86.

ESPN prepares to launch ugly WC Set in Brasil. Set will be used by ESPN USA, other ESPN international channels and ESPN Brasil. Hideous. I get where they were going but if the real thing is anything close to these renders...yuck. Nice views from the set but thats about it. Read more and see more renders here

Maybe it's because I'm far more interested in the Olympics but by comparison the World Cup themes are usually pretty forgetable. I'm not quite old enough to remember Nessun Dorma being used but really the only theme I can remember from World Cups/Euros is the ITV 1998 one.
