This Is Granada
The current channel 4 idents are brilliant!

Also loved the Granada Regions spinning hearts from 1999, and the music too!! Shame that GMG North tend to always use the short version of the idents!! Carlton Hearts were good too!

Granada should have used the other hearts idents which were produced, the one they ended up using on screen was pathetic! , the way they ended up using was stupid!

Whilst I didn't mind the ones which aired, the unused ones were ten times better with great music and much more imaginative visuals. The generic version intended to go up to the news with the spinning glass square was superb, with really dramatic music.

A friend and former announcer at YTV told me that they were within days of going to air, but were pulled at the last minute as bosses considered them too 'arty'.
