I quite like Irish 4 - Water, the extra bit of music after the ding-didle-a-ding is good!
English 4 is a good one too!
Has anyone ever done a difinative list of the different Balloon tunes, and which idents use which
(i.e E19 Blackpool and E20 Angel of the North both use the same music)

Most idents share the same soundtrack.
There is one soundtrack that was used in 1997, but is no longer used on any idents - thats the theme to the now erased English 7 (Felixstowe).
I remember seeing it once, in November 1997 - then never ever again (it's the only one I never made a recording of!) Does anyone else remember seeing it?
Also English 7 (Felixstowe), very common in the first six months, then I didn't see it at all for a whole two years before it made a comeback for a few months around March-May 2000.
English 5 and Scottish 17 were also rarities. Unfortunately the whole of this lot have all been withdrawn now.

Yes, some of the best idents were withdrawn in May 2000.
Like the fantastic Felixstowe and South Downs variations.
I have voted for English 6 (Felixstowe) because it is a great one. Although I much prefer English 7. (One of the Felixstowe fast variations) Sadly withdrawn.
