BBC needs people like Aaron - more energetic Wink

I didnt' see this Edgar bloke - it was Rico Hizon in Singapore, Aaron at LSE, some Von German bloke in Germany and John Terret in NY.

Aaron was hilarious (as usual!); here is a clip of his introduction:

Tanya looks serious, I think. And the camera shot of her angle in the end is way too serious.

By the way, why was Martine Dennis doing the 8am and onward slot instead of her usual "flagship news slot"?

Because thats her shift now - she finished European Breakfast in June; with Tanya giving her a final farewell. Adrian, Mike, Anita, Davids and Nisha have all been chipping in until the replacement starts permanantly.

I think getting up at just after 2am would get to anyone after 2 years!!

EDIT: YES - that woman is Nisha Pillai!! Its just the captures, but shes very warm and cudly if you watch her - shes a true star!! Cool

Yeah, a light went bust above the main seat, so she had to temporarily move across to the other chair by the looks of it!

The woman doing the news tonight Zeinab Badawi (sp?) has crashed the thunderclaps every time she does the opening headlines; she just talked over them as if they weren't there! Does she always do this? Aren't the headlines meant to fit in between the thunderclaps and get rehearsed a few minutes before they go live?
Incidentally, does the presenter script the opening headlines themselves or is it written by someone else?

Nick Gowing is another newsreader who rarely obeys the thunderclaps. He always over stretches the headlines beyond the thunderclaps. Ms. Badawi and Nick should learn from Stephen Cole, who does the work flawlessly.

Shame about the rest of Stephen Cole's presenting skills though Laughing
Adrian is on this morning - makes a nice change to this Dutton women, I do admit.

Zeinab is awful at presenting, she should go back to political reporting - like Westminster Live or TDP. Because Nik Gowing is brilliant at his job - he's allowed to talk through them Wink

I like Nik too. I also like David Jessel (are those teeth real?), but somehow I get the impression that puts me in a bit of a minority here Exclamation

There is something weird about Nik Gowing's bulletins, he must speak awfully loud because there is no studio atmosphere noise when he speaks, but when they hand over to Manisha Tank, the studio noice is quite noticeable.
