I remember the edition of the World Today last week, when David Eades and Tanya presented it. Just before David handed it over to Tanya, there was a report about an Italian marathon kissing competition. Tanya asked David about how long they might have kissed if they had taken part in the competition, and it was so amusing to see David turning pink.

But this very morning (08.09CET) Adrian handed over to Tanya for the business headlines. She did it for a minute then(talking about vivendi and the french prime minister Jean Pierre Referin)

Tanya: "I'll be back with more when i come back for the BBC's World business report in 20 minutes, joinn me then"
Then Adrian looked at her for some seconds without singing a word, and suddenly he said: "Tanya I love you............when you speak french"
Tanya:"Well me too........Thank you very much indeed"

Other good presenters are Lyse Doucet, Lindsey Brancher (who are both under-used IMO), and Nisha Pillai.

There is lots of work for Lyse Doucet to do for BBC NEWS.She is often deployed to anchor special news coverage from the field( she was firstly in Islamabad and then in Kabul for the post 9/11 developments;we have her in Amman and then in Baghdad for this second war in Iraq, and also in Amman to cover so called "delivering of the road map for peace in the Middle east"
We often have Lyse Docet doing Talking point panel,HARDtalk .What about Lyndsey Brancher?Nothing?
Just before BBC NEWS relaunched TWT,there has been a promo of the programme with Lyndsey. So i thought she is about to be the main anchor of TWT,but it was Martine Dennis( My words, she 's good too). However we had Lyndsey doing the programme on fridays. But before that we regularly saw Lindsey Brancher doing Nisha's shift(infact at those times -called Lindsey's shift)You remember that at the very beginning of Asia today there weren't special anchors for the programme,so Lindsey did it too.She was on air from 13.00CET-16.00CET and then running Asia Today 16.30CET.The scheme was running that way for 2 months or so and then Geeta Guru Murthy joined BBC WORLD.
Lately i remember Lindsey sitting for Nisha Pillai for the funeral of the Queen Mother. She was also doing for Nik Gowing when a light plane crushed into a skyscraper in Milan.
She used to call Mishal Husain(when the last one was doing the business)"the woman with the money"

All in all Lindsey Brancher is a VERY good journalist ,and she really is under-used

well mr. tv guy, that sometimes happens when the overnight news comes from the world studios. It usually takes place if its sister channel BBC News 24 is having work done on set.

I wonder what happened to people like Liz Pike and Peter Coe. They could be seen frequently during the flag era.
