Apart from when he reads the headlines, Nick Gowing is probably the best presenter BBC World has. He's called in whenever a major world event happens, is'nt he?

Yeah, Nik's the head of the BBC World presenting team, so that's why he's usually called in when something major happens. Likewise, Gavin Esler was the head of News 24's presenting team, so he was usually called in too. Does anyone know who has that role on News 24 now that Gavin's left? I presume it would be one of the long-standing senior N24 presenters, like Philip Hayton, Jane Hill?

I don't think n24 has a senior presenter anymore.

They must have someone they would call in - say another September 11th happened, and a relief presenter like Andrew Simmonds was on, on his own?

In recent times it's been the presenters on duty that have been breaking the news with World taking a simulcast, as to something like September 11th happened(please, it should never happen ever), presumably it has to be Phillip Hayton?

Nick Gowing is another newsreader who rarely obeys the thunderclaps. He always over stretches the headlines beyond the thunderclaps. Ms. Badawi and Nick should learn from Stephen Cole, who does the work flawlessly.

Shame about the rest of Stephen Cole's presenting skills though Laughing
Adrian is on this morning - makes a nice change to this Dutton women, I do admit.

Zeinab is awful at presenting, she should go back to political reporting - like Westminster Live or TDP. Because Nik Gowing is brilliant at his job - he's allowed to talk through them Wink

There is something weird about Nik Gowing's bulletins, he must speak awfully loud because there is no studio atmosphere noise when he speaks, but when they hand over to Manisha Tank, the studio noice is quite noticeable.

No one dare speak while Nik is broadcasting.

Nik seems too much of a professional presenting news, and relaxed when presenting Dateline London to be the prima donna type.
Mishal?! I can't imagine her throwing a tantrum. Maybe filing her nails angrily, but a full-blown shouting match? Most un-ladylike!
