BBC did make a documentary about Father Ted - as part of the last series of 'Comedy Connections'. Was very interesting as it showed what the stars did before Father Ted. Some rare stuff for those of us on this side of the Irish Sea!
Father Ted was a superb series. I wouldn't like to see any kind of spin off made though. It should be left as it is. Anything made now, using just some of the characters, inevitably would be a disappointment.
I'd also be a bit worried if Channel 4 did some kind of 10th Anniversary special it'd be ruined by the inevtiable choice of Jimmy Carr to present it.
And just to go slighly off-topic... does anyone else remember watching a spoof news programme which had Pauline McLynn as the main presenter? I only ever saw it once, late at night. It was a bit like The Day Today but not as good... although quite interesting to see Pauline playing a completely different part to Mrs Doyle
i say it would be quite possible. they might have dougal in a different parish, and he just causes loads of trouble (like doing a funeral, and the herse exploding!) and all goes wrong but he does have a clue whats going on!

quite likely!
Sounds a bit like Brittas Empire but set in a church! Dougal was brilliant.
My favourite episode is probably the one in the caravan. "No no Dougal, this cow is small, that one is far away..."
