Speaking for myself and I would probably say other sci-fi TV fans enjoy having the chance to see Farscape and other shows like this in this post midnight time-slot . Especially since there's absolutely no chance of seeing these type of shows in prime time, it's a fantastic opportunity for new fans and old to see shows that they want to see. I admit I don't stay up late watching myself instead I set my video recorder.

I also welcome other late night repeats and movies during the night and sometimes get to see some real gems tucked in a amongst the "quantity". Only last week I happened to be up late and watched a BBC documentary about the atom. Now if the channel had "went to bed" I would not have seen it, nor known of its existence.

Over the years I've seen a lot of entertaining shows and films that never appeared before midnight, to the best of my knowledge. So there's no way in hell I would want BBC2 or any other channel to go to bed, well except ITV if they're only going to do stupid phone-in quizzes. But even ITV used to show some good stuff back in the day. I remember when I was in high school in the late Eighties and early Nineties I used to record this Vietnam war documentary, some American movie box-office programme and a comedy cop series called Hammer or something like that. In more recent times you can watch lots of Asian cinema as most if it is shown on film 4 in a post midnight slot... But years ago that used to be shown on Channel 4.

Thinking back to 1998 I watched a terrific repeat of a sci-fi show called Space above and Beyond. I truly welcomed another chance to see that show and would love to see it again on the BBC, since it hasn't been shown since.

I do agree that the majority of channels and its programming is complete rubbish but with more channels to have more choice and I think it's great to have some channels repeating older programs that have niche audiences, giving everyone a chance to see something they like.

just a suggestion but why don't you contact the BBC and find out what the music was, then you can always try and purchase a CD.

While we're at it why don't we close the BBC at midnight ending with God Save the Queen.

You know, I think you might be on to something there!

Although taking into account the Sign Zone, it would just have to be at the end of the night's programmes, and not actually at midnight Razz
