BBC news relaunches all its programmes at the same time
The BBC today launched its new look for all national news programmes: the 1/6/10 o'clock bulletins on BBC1, the 7 o'clock news and 60 seconds on BBC3 and The World on BBC4. BBC News 24 also relaunched today (with a new news programme to replace Breakfast, which will now only broadcast on BBC1).
All the programmes have adopted new titles and graphics based around one style (BBC3's youth-oriented 7 o'clock news and 60 Seconds have a slight variation, mainly in the colour scheme, on the standard 'look' of all BBC news programmes.
Commentators are extremely pleased at the seamless approach to news presentation across the whole of BBC News output. Contributors to a popular online forum discussing TV presentation also expressed satisfaction with the relaunch. One, signing himself off as d0g, said, "For years I have said that BBC News 24 is far inferior to Sky News. Now I have finally been proved wrong. I am a convert."
The BBC's regional news magazines have been removed from the 'BBC News' umbrella and allowed to re-develop their own on-air look, something which has pleased many viewers. Chris, from Plymouth, said, "I'm delighted to see that Spotlight has been able to rediscover its potential for innovative presentation. Oh, and I like the fact that the lighthouse is back."
