Two interesting points about this new programme...

1) Just caught the end of it - "An LWT Production for BBC"! So the LWT name lives on! It's not very often you see a BBC/ITV joint thing (I think the only other programme that had this was This Is Your Life, which was a BBC/Thames production last time I saw the end caption.

2) I thought "XChange" was a BBC kids programme - isn't the title of this new programme a bit misleading in that case?

The LWT name lives on in many productions on ITV. Also, it's not unknown for ITV companies to produce programmes for BBC1.

This programme is called Family XChange. The CBBC XChange brand isn't exactly a household name, so I doubt it would cause any confusion.

Family xchange is just a repeat from the summer

All they have done is rename it from Family Exchange to Family Xchange

Seeing that it was made when LWT was still broadcasting hence it still being there

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr @ people using "Xchange" without an "E" - that's CBBCs!

So what is this Family Xchange then? I assumed it would just be a rebranded version of the CBBC Channel's Xchange, so haven't watched it.

It is about two families - one from a council estate, and one from a big barn conversion, exchange their lives - this means that they exchange everything, from houses and shopping lists to the children's schools and family friends. Each family is given 1000 pounds to make any changes to the other families house that they feel fit - the rich family decide to re-wire the council house, where as the council estate family decide to cut down some decoration from the barn conversion's rafters. It's quite amusing.

The first time that LWT must have made a show for the BBC, I know that GR/N/D/ always makes shows constantly for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, suprisingly Five and BSkyB, as they have recently made The Pop Years for Sky One. But LWT must be a first, plus we know ex-stations like Thames makes shows for the BBC. I do believe that Carlton have made the odd show for the BBC.
