Yes. The BBC did say that Family Guy will stay on the BBC until 2017, but I'm thinking this means repeats only now as they no longer have the rights to new episodes. If BBC 3 closes, expect to see Family Guy at least going out in a very late night slot on BBC ONE or BBC TWO.

I doubt that. I'm guessing that the existing BBC contract did stand until 2017 but the BBC have broken out of the contract early at a cost to them (Though eventually saving from the axing of BBC Three).
I'd be very surprised if we found repeats on the BBC and new series on ITV.
Family Guy which is core to BBC3's late evening output was probably causing the BBC more problems than they expected, considering it dominates the multi-channels in the post 11pm slot. It would have been a scheduling nightmare trying to put it on one of the main channels.
At least with the ITV2 deal, it stays on FTA television including Freeview and includes all of Seth's animated shows in one place, instead of the current BBC3/E4 situation.
Fox I presume will continue to show the shows behind a paywall?

Fox no longer has American dad, some cable company has the new 11 series, which is a vast improvement.
'Spectacular animation'. I know it's standard press release waffle but it's
never
been noted for its quality of animation. The first 3 seasons did at least have a vague charm in their crudeness (the characters' expressions and actions were far more fluid and varied) but if anything, it's an aspect that's only got progressively worse, flat and robotic, as the series has worn on.
...Along with the 'razor sharp' humour. Agree about the music though, that was always extremely good.

Really? Exactly that happened with Lost after C4 lost the rights to Sky. The tweet from the BBC Press Office was pretty firm in stating that Family Guy will remain on the BBC until 2017.
What it didn't say, and everybody here seemed to interpret it as somehow saying, was that they'll have exclusivity.
Yes, for Family Guy the wording of the press release only mentions that 'all new series' will be on ITV whereas with American Dad it specifically mentions new & existing series.
Still a lot of extra content for ITV2 then, presumably for post 10pm and repeats are always useful schedule filler.
Family Guy: Season 15 onwards - ITV2. Archive episodes, Undisclosed BBC channel until 2017.
American Dad: All on ITV2.
The Cleveland Show: From E4 to ITV2.
Bordertown: Premiere on ITV2.

Does itv2 have the rights to this new series?
I think London Lite meant Fox UK, the channel that used to be FX. Not the US broadcaster, which has indeed axed American Dad resulting in it moving to TBS.
