Not forgetting of course Family Guy was already axed once and revived. Could be axed and revived three years later Smile
That notwithstanding, it's a very successful show, not everybody likes it but I personally love it and even if the show is axed, it'll live on in international syndication for a good many years plus the DVDs are available. This isn't 1964 where something goes off-air and it's never seen again.

Its been axed twice Wink I did love the show but I think after s6 it really went down hill, and no longer what oringally was. Seth wanted rid of it 3 years ago and still does. FG etc is why The flintsones never got of the ground.

Yet FG is the money maker in Seth's operation with not just the Fox commission in the States and the DVD box set sales, the international distribution etc.

Personally I think American Dad is the better of the shows at the moment, yet I can see FG evolving in the same way The Simpsons has over the years.

I agree, American Dad, is the better show. I think its got even better since it left Fox, I dont think FG will get any better unless leaves Fox. I can't see it evolving ...

Ironically Fox UK have first run rights to American Dad over here. I think like The Simpsons, FG is one of the more valuable formats that Fox US have. A shame Fox didn't realise that when they axed it the first time round.

Answers the question.
So what was that lift image all about then? Could it have been from last year, before the BBC renewed the deal? It can't have been just a one season extension after all.

Its already been said... ITV pop that up on the lift doors to impress FOX who come to Kent house for talks.

The photo was taken/uploaded by an ITV employee (specifically Saturday Night Takeaway) to Twitter yesterday, so it can't be that old. It does seem odd that ITV would leave the promotion on the lift so publicly though instead of taking it down as soon as Fox left, and the tweet does not appear to have been swiftly removed as I thought it might have been.

But that story doesn't ring true - the talks cannot have been about Family Guy, the BBC renewed it last year, we thought only for one year but it now transpires that it was for three.

Discussions for after 2017?
Discussions for other potential Fox shows?
Family Guy is not the only pie Fox have fingers in. The lift thing could be seen as illustrative example - first impressions and all that. Why have a pokey picture on a piece of A4 on a door when you can cover an entire lift with it instead?

The tweet confirms the BBC will show it until 2017. It doesn't confirm they have exclusive FTA rights.
