Yeah, I get how it happens but (and I say this as someone who has lived in cities all his life, and all in England/America) I do find it stands out. Much better to say 'Aberfan, Wales' and 'Birmingham' in my view, if it's felt that the town name is not well known.

Yeah, but these towns will never get to be known if everywhere is just referred to as 'Wales' all the time.
A contestant on Family Fortunes left viewers speechless this evening over her crude answer to a question on the show.
Trying not to smirk, host Bruno Tonioli had asked: "Name something you put in your mouth but don't swallow?"
Kash was the first to hit the buzzer, but viewers weren't able to hear what she said as it was bleeped out.
Her family looked shocked by her comment while the audience laughed.
Bruno just stared at her but didn't comment and turned to the board to see whether it was listed.
They've got their moment for future blunder shows so we can tick this one off as a success. It has also been recommissioned. Gino is alright but doesn't elevate the show to the next level.
Apparently Les was on Steph's Packed Lunch...can't quite work out if he knows about Gino's history or not!
Also you can't help wondering if he would have been up for a reboot had ITV pitched this current version all those years ago rather than the 'All Stars' Vernon era...

What did Les Dennis say about Family Fortunes?
Speaking on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4, the comedian said: “It was kind of like watching someone who had burgled my house and redecorated it.”
He continued: “People said to me you should go back, but that’s like saying to Adam West, ‘you should be Batman again’.
“I did it for it for all those years, had a great time with it and when I took it over Bob Monkhouse called me and said he’s passing the baton on.”
Despite his initial feelings, Les added: “I think he’s [Gino] doing a great job!”

Family Fortunes was very tired as a format by the time it went off the air in 2002 and IMO the All Star reboot gave it a new lease of life with new look and a new host in Vernon Kay.
Shout out to Gino referencing "Thames" on Sunday. Ok, he was just reading out the email address for new applications but still.
I'm a little surprised in this marketing era that @itv.com email addresses aren't mandated, even if it's just as a forward to the production team's actual address.
A bit like Saturday Kitchen always use @cactustv.com - I wonder if that's a technical thing as people send video questions don't they? Maybe they'd get stuck in the BBC's mailbox otherwise.

Although I suspect if that was the case they’d have to read out an email for STV viewers.
