I do wish they'd get someone better to do the trails for Fame Academy - the woman who does it at the moment (I think she did last year's as well) is awful!

Yes I agree, what 'cool' voice she is supposed to be putting on I don't know

Is it just me or does she sound like Lolly - aka Anna from UK BrightIdeas?

I didn't know that Anna Kumble worked on UK Bright Ideas! She is a regular on CBBC's Xchange.

I'm not very impressed with the BBCi service - unless I'm pressing the wrong button, there doesn't seem to be more than a single live feed from the academy. Last year they had quite a good interactive service, especially the timetable feature, which told you what you were actually looking at!

No it's rubbish this year. There isn't even an MHEG news service or timetable. I might complain actually.

Anna does the annoucements for UKBI. Chappers from Radio 1 does UK Gold.

If you see it at the right times, it can be very interesting. It would appear that for about an hour or an hour and a half after each live show, they have some sort of debrief where their performances are reviewed and discussed as a group, with all teachers present.

The teachers and students can challenge each others' opinions on what's just been performed and said, and this is probably the best part of the interactive feed to see. I found it very enlightening - especially seeing a sweltering Richard Park in a t-shirt glugging back the mineral water like mad!!

How is the Fame Academy house action filmed. Do they use two-way mirrors, CCTV or just send in the cameras?

lots of ways. They have a lot of CCTV around the house and there are two ways in the dance hall and dining room aswell as other places (if you remember near the end of last years David and Ainslie ran into the run in the dance hall after Sinead got sick of "Pinky and Perky" making so much noise")

There are also cameramen who run proper cameras in the dance hall and during the vocal sessions. This is why the whole show looks more professional than BB.

Yep - I like the way the BBC have given us an interactive continuous feed from the house - it gives you a greater chance to 'bond' with your favourite student and see their development through the series. I am impressed by how hard the students work and I've picked up a lot of hints as to how I can improve my singing style and performance in general. Fame Academy has also helped widen my own singing repertoire, realising that there are many more songs out there that are suitable for and within my alto voice range.

Not forgetting of course that this advice is coming from people in the business....

It's not interactive though, it's just live pictures from the house.

If it was interactive I might be able to slap Paris - not only very annoying, but also a huge fan of Lenny Kravitz....need I say more?

Remember that the term "interactive" means something different in the eyes of broadcasters than it does to everyone else.

hmmmm. The Live Stream has just turned into BBC4. How careless
EDIT - It's moved to 702

Anyways - second "eviction" night tomorrow. I'm not keen on this twice a week lark - it's too fast. I hope near the end they bring it down to once a week and are just getting rid of the crap quickly.

By the way why is this topic not sticky when the Pop Idol one is?
