if alex doesnt win this then the critics will maul the show more than usual. alistair has talent but hes too boring. so he can copy a dance from the office, so what? wheres the rest of his "humour"??
BI
Having his endorcement is a huge coup for the Fame Academy Final. Patrick Kielty mentioned Sir Pauls involvement during his chat on this afternoons Chris Moyles Radio 1 show. Richard Park was also was on earlier and the interviews were seperated by at least 20 mins so they wouldn't have to share airtime!

I still can't get excited by this show I'm afraid. Whoever wins won't sell a particularly large amount when their first song is released.
The problem is, the producers are after another musical legend, yet the show is just full of what look like rejects from Pop Idol.

im sorry but FA's talent is on a par if not better than PIs talent this year. chris? brian? marc? *yawn* pretty bland really. and what is tarek doing in the final 50?
even cowell has said he'd loved to have had Alex in PI. and carolynne would have done well in PI too, maybe even alistair if you look at chris and brian. but those PI contestants on FA? no way.

Say all you like about the contestants, the show is still dull as ditchwater. At least Pop Idol is entertaining, something the BBC don't seem to understand when they make shows like FA.

Yes, but the main thing is, is that the contestants are of a higher quality and are much more equipped to fend for themselves. They're talented enough to write their own songs, play their own instruments and perform them with a high degree of ability.
I'm sure that the Fame Academy teachers wouldn't touch Pop Idol contestants with a bargepole. Are you sure you're watching this with an open mind, rather than a fixed mindset that is determined to dislike it?

The same goes for you and Pop Idol. If you ever pressed button 3 on your TV, you'd be able to make a comparison. After FA ends you'll be able to watch Pop Idol, and see the high profile glossy live shows which they do with the final ten

i have been watching PI. the auditions process became tedious after the first 2weeks when all the bad ones became the same, and the final50 process is boring as anything. yeah, the final10 part may be "glossy" but IMO the actual contestants all seem dull from footage Ive seen, and all very much the same. not the case for FA which is why i find it more entertaining to watch.

Yes - whilst Fame Academy got down to business quickly, all this faffy 'Who'll make the Final 50' nonsense and speculation about who'll make that 'elite' is ridiculously overstretching the show. It seems to smack of production and editorial arrogance and only succeeds to feed us with an Ant and Dec ego trip.
And well done to Sir Paul McCartney who recognises where the TRUE talent lies by appearing on and endorsing Fame Academy. Let's not forget that FA has also in the past seen appearances by Lionel Richie, Shania Twain and Robin Gibb...... what Pop Idol would give....
