Alex - in order to survive long after the post-Fame Academy honeymoon period ends, the winning person's got to have that little bit of extra 'va-va-voom', and I think Alex has it - she's got bags of interesting and slightly unconventional personality, a great singing voice and the ability to make every performance she does stand out from the crowd. This has been obvious from the start, when she did the qualifying show. I still think she's head and shoulders above Carolynne and Alistair.

No. Peter can only screech tunelessly, and jump around like a pillock. He CANNOT sing . . . period.

He is marginally a 'better' singer than my little bro!!

How, where and when the idolisation of Peter began defeats me. "IF" he were to succeed in his chosen profession he would need the backing of a band. More importantly, he needs to adopt a unique style. The judges can harp on all they like about how he "owns" the stage, but in terms of performance he is no more than a Jagger / Bowie / Albarn / and-everyone-else-esque composite. Vocally he is average if not below-par even by indie standards, and he cannot redeem himself with songwriting ability. So where, exactly, is this star quality?

Alex does deserve to win in that she is truly unique. I do whince sometimes that she has to try to break your heart with every song, but that's her thing and her strength. She is probably one of the few artists of recent times that has the potential to not only find favour amongst the home crowd but also, with the right marketing, take on the US market.

However, I do hope that Alistair will win. He has sound attributes, song writing skills and a winning personality. Alex will succeed regardless of this competition, but Alistair needs the push that such a coup would offer (as was the case for Sneddon). Not the "right" choice, but a worthy winner.

In reply to Mike Tee Vee:

I agree with you about Peter's need to get a band behind him; he'd sink if he was a solo act. If people got a little tired of all the jumping and screeching into the mike, they'd have the option of looking towards someone else in the band. I don't think he's that good as a singer. His tonality is way-off and not at all pleasant to listen to.

Daniel Bedingfield is back for the final. On Friday Daniel will return to the Academy to give a masterclass with the finalists. He will duet with the two remaining students in the second show on Saturdays finale. If Your Not the One with Alex, Gotta Get Thru This with Carolynne and Never Gonna Leave Your Side with Alistair.

The penultimate day in the Academy for the finalists has arrived!
Daniel Bedingfield will be visiting and the students are less than excited at the "out of this world" performance which will be sought by Bedders. Changes are happening around the Academy building as the crew prepare for the final. All the main rooms around the house are going to be used to cater for the extra family & friends that will make the on site audience swell. In the final Patrick & Cat are going from room to room to speak to the familys of Alex, Carolynne & Alister. Extra lighting has been installed outside of the Academy. Fireworks will erupt before the show concludes.
