I've been loving this series of Extras. I think this series works better because its not all about embarrassing innuendo between Andy and Maggie - more attention is on the guest stars, Merchant and Barry off EastEnders and events.
Andy (toy): "Is he havin' a laff?"
Andy: "Turn it off, rip the batteries out or something..."
Richard Briers: "Tacky cheap s**t!"
Brilliant.

managed to work out the lyrics to when the whistle blows:
tick tock alarm clock, gona be late
porridge, toast, kids, car, bloody? school gate
factory floor, what a chore, another day's graft
and fifty times a day I hear 'are you having a laugh?'
What ever happened to my dreams, is this the life I chose?
the highlight of my rotten day is when the whistle blows
when the whistle blows (x 4)
Bit odd how the lyrics refer to the whistle blowing at the end of the day when the setting within the factory refers to the whilste blowing at the start of the day

Having been without a TV at university, I've managed to catch the episodes on YouTube. I'm really enjoying this series, every episode has been brilliant, but especially episode 4 at the BAFTAs. I'm wondering how the last episode will pan out, as Gervais and Merchant have said they don't want to do a 3rd series. Maybe they'll do a Christmas special? I have my own plot for it!
I think they need to get Karl Pilkington to make an appearance at some stage.
Also, I've seen That Mitchell and Webb Look, which is equally funny. BBC comedy is doing well at the moment.

I've watched clip upon clip of The Office and I never laughed once, so when I heard about Extras I gave it a wide berth.
Then I stumbled across one of the repeats on BBC2 with Patrick Stewart as guest and I was hooked. Loved this series so far, however, I think That Mitchell and Webb Look is even funnier. Move over Little Britain!

sounds like her. The cartoon 'mum' looks a bit like her as well.
Think it may be her

I haven't really got into Extras that much, but I did watch the last episode and thought it was the funniest thing I've seen for a long time. The writing is brilliant, particularly those little references to The Office, and I thought the cameos were great. The ending with Moira Stewart topped it off nicely.
