I'm not sure how useful it is but I was told once that if you want a decent agency that might be in with the chance of casting you, check for any regular shows filmed near you. Near me,The Bill is filmed. Then check through some of the cast's agency addresses but don't go for big star's agencies as they might get cockey with "newcommers". Very Happy

This may not be the right thread, but Les Dennis must be masochistic to let gervais and merchant do what they did to him in last nights episode. It was very funny, especially his impression of graham norton, and its good that he was up for it, but it was very cruel indeed and shows how desperate he is that he went along with it.

Best Bit from last night?

Definatly the climax Corrie impression. Rapidly turning into a brilliant series.

A bit of hope today,I got a reply for one of my emails. They asked for a copy of my CV. I have only done a few bits of stage work but surely that's worth something.

It certainly is worth something. You might get asked along for a cold-read of a script.

You should (always) have a good audition piece ready. Don't waste your time with "Audition Speeches for Men" or other books of monologues. You should always read a full script/play first so you truly understand the character.

I realise that you might only be aiming for work as a background actor, but you never know when you might get offered something more substantial.

Try and go for a piece that is as close to your age as possible. Unlike repertory theatre, you will most likely only ever be cast as the age you are, so avoid attempting a part which you would be too young to convincingly play.

Good luck. Don't get downhearted if you don't hear back immediately. Details are often retained for months/years.

Any programme with Ricky Gervais Rolling Eyes in it has got to be tripe, that's what I say! Laughing

I have started writing my short CV. I wrote it in kind of a letter form as if I did it in a list it would be a waste of paper.

Sent it today, but forgot the SAE. I emailed them asking if I would need to send it in another envelope and stamp it.

Looking through their website,it seems a few famous people are on their books. Must have good connections in the BBC. If I'm gonna be on EastEnders then it may help. Hope I get in.

I got my Equity forms but tore them up because I made a few mistakes so I sent off for another one.

I sent my SAE.The first letter with the CV should have already sent today but unless I'm wrong they should both arrive tommorow.
