I've just saw a trailer for "Extinct" and it says coming soon
"Coming to ITV1 this December is Extinct, a new series that gives you the chance to make a real difference and help save some of the worlds most endangered species."

When I saw that topic I thought that was some breaking news about the demise of ITV!!!

Yes. Odd that they haven't included it on any others, especially the 'An Audience with Take That' promo. Consistency people, consistency.

Extinct was reported by MediaGuardian back in May. It's being made by Endemol, in association with the World Wildlife Fund, and will be hosted by Trevor McDonald.

Extinct will feature celebrities travelling to remote locations to report on the survival prospects of eight species. The species covered will be the Bengal tiger, mountain gorilla, giant panda, Asian elephant, polar bear, orangutan, leatherback turtle and hyacinth macaw.

Sir Trevor will host a peak time live studio edition every day for a week, with reports from across the globe on featured species and studio guests. Viewers will be encouraged to play an important part in the live interactive television event by ringing in to pledge their support for the endangered animals.

The money raised will help fund projects on the ground dedicated to protecting the rare wildlife. ITV has also commissioned an ITV1 daytime family quiz show - Extinct: Survival of the Fittest - to tie in with the peak time series.

Sounds interesting, and different for ITV I suppose.

It was a good trailer, it made me take notice of what was going on which is a good sign.

I take it none of you watched the launch programme last Tuesday at 7.30 then!

That programme wasn't broadcast on stv, sadly. Instead, we had a repeat of This Scotland: Heavy Metal Junior , which was a load of rubbish.

Wasn't on UTV either. We're catching up on the new series of Airline which was shown on ITV1 recently.
