I didn't realise until it came on, but the Regional News on BBC ONE at 5.20pm was a 15 minute special.

Look North was presented by Peter Levy, there was a 7 minute insert about 'Children in Need' this was presented by Tom Ingall

What did your region do?

Yes, BBC North West did the same. Nigel Jay signed off the bulletin, played the end sting, immediately followed by the balloon, with Nigel doing a live announcement for the CIN programme, presented by weather presenter, Dianne Oxberry.

Weather presenter!  I thought Dianne was entertainments reporter as she presents Box Office!

EDIT: As well as the weather!! which I believe is her main job!

Yes, I've noticed BBC London News have been doing some reports on cocaine lately. Since they got rid of the title 'Newsroom South East' I thought that the production team had ceased doing these reports once in a while - obviously not.

midlands today had the normal program (aprox 5min) with michael colly, then 'now over to suzanne blah blah...' with the midlands today titles with a dancing pudsey in the bottom right who clapped to the music... then suzanne virdee was standing in the unused part of the set infront of a plasma - with a bloke in a pudsey suite introducing VT about CiN in the midlands

im not not sure if im a 100% right - but it was something like that - and no captures either Sad

The CIN section of Look North was just an 'insert' rather than a separate programme.

Peter Levy handed over to Tom Ingall who was at the 'weather screen'

(As Peter Levy was in the self-opt studio, there wasn't any wide camera angles)

Peter still came back at the end to do the weather and end in his unique 'expert at timing' way.

'And thats the weather outlook this sunday evening from Look North' immediate opt out, immediately into networked trailer.

I don't think that all-black clothing by Tom Ingall quite went, do you? Weather Screen-located people need brightness and visual 'interest'!

Sorry Tom, Paul Hudson's job ain't for sale!
