If it doubled YOUR audience ratings then surely you would be able to explain as to why the idents were longer than ususal.
I like long idents and I think fifteen to twenty seconds should be used more regularly; I was just wondering why the BBC chose to show them for a longer duration that was all

Well, no, you see I was the early person this morning and I was off yesterday. There was no reason other than timing for the length of the symbols, which I did tell you.

Well, how was I supposed to know that you're a BBC announcer?

Oh do be quiet you pathetic moron.

Mind you with Channel 4's very long batch of idents it would be nice for the other channels to follow suit (five's CSI ident for example which is stunning)

Something weird happened last night.
The Last Slide of Inside out lasted a long time and so did the Menu after that. The Ident into Eastenders was an unblurred static version of Capoera.
I'm in South-west.

I've been present at the recording of some of Dead Ringers' continuity announcements, does that count? Laughing

Whilst most are only used within the programme I like the ones that Jon Culshaw recorded which actually aired on BBC 2 for the Monday comedy slot. Great way to see a relatively long amount of an actual BBC ident.

Yes I noticed that aswell. It was BBC1 National at 8:00pm 24/1/05. I taped it purely by chance, but being as though I don't have the ability to load it to my PC, I can't show it. I'm sure someone else here has loaded it though.

I just about doubled my audience for this morning...

So let's see, Northern Ireland at 05:58; does that mean you had eight instead of four?

Audience figures suggest approx 3000.

Appx 3000 just for an ident? Did the audience continue watching BBC or did they turn off when they'd seen you'd made something up.
It was good to see longer idents though
