What's with the extended clean idents on BBC ONE on Sunday? At 13.30 we had about 12 seconds of Skateboarders clean and at 13.45 we had 17 seconds of Bollywood clean.
About time they used the length of the idents

i've noticed that too. Mabe they are about to go, so they are showing us all of them in full glory?

Then again,probalby not

I would have thought the reason for it was because they were opting into BBC News 24

Maybe but why show the longest ever showing of Bollywood (that I've seen) ahead of Eastenders.
What happened at 15.35? - I missed the ident

Umm, interesting......
Since I tuned in this morning there appears to have been extented idents running. The ident into Countryfile, Tai Chi, I think, was pretty long, about 14secs. The News ident of Skateboarder was long also, before finally, at present the Bollywood ident been played for the longest time on BBC One.
Im not so sure on any new rebrand, baring in mind that Lorraine remains in her dictatorship position, but perhaps we could see some of the "other" idents been used more freely... Ballet, although I think this ident was for use "in times of national reflection" whatever thats meant to mean concidering some of the news stories we had over recent months.

National Reflection, I thought that ment like funerals, for the royal family etc?

It does. It would be used for a report on a natural disaster (EG. Asian Tsunami) when it wanted people to remember something serious.

Something's happening to BBC ONE - I'm expecting tonight's closedown to be the full ident (30+secs).
There won't be a rebrand considering that Tumbler was only introduced a couple of weeks ago.

National Reflection...hmmm...

I don't recall seeing Ballet used for the Festival of Rememberance in November.

I don't recall Ballet being used for the multitude of Tsunami related programmes after the Xmas idents were removed.

I don't recall ever seeing Ballet apart from only once, and that was nearly three years ago.

I wonder what ident BBC One will use in the event of another sombre day in the near future. Salsa? Festival perhaps? Rolling Eyes

Just contradict what I say then.
Besides I saw Ballet at 22.00 on BBC ONE Yorkshire one Monday in September/October time. I'm not sure why, the headline wasn't anything serious

And women dancing on the seashore with the waves crashing in the background is suitable for the Tsunami coverage?

I never thought of that. Even still I doubt Ballet will make a comeback just because of extended BBC ONE Idents today. There has to be some change, I just don't know what it is.

Ballet was used for on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, introducing their coverage. It's not written in stone that, for all events warranting reflection, this ident will be used; rather that this ident is only for use duing these times. They can of course be introduced by any of the ident set, whichever is deemed most appropriate.
