Although I do welcome a new "hard" hitting current affaairs series to ITV1 they got a basic fact wrong at the beginning of the episode! The devastating IRA bombing of Manchester which destroyed most of the city was in 1996 and not 1995 as they stat!ed

Exaggeration much? It destroyed a chunk of it but that's a bit extreme...

Indeed ... It blew a massive chunk out of the side of the Arndale Centre, badly wrecked the M&S store over the road, blew out lots of windows across the city centre, and injured (IIRC) 206 people, but had miraculously killed no-one.

If anything, the Manchester bombing by the IRA in 1996 was a blessing in disguise. The Arndale Centre exterior had
the look of an oversized public loo with the infamous putrid yellow tiles. The writer Bill Bryson said much the same
thing about it in one of his books. The entire building, to all intents and purposes, was a relic from the late 70's.

The description in the OP makes it sound like an atom bomb had hit the city, not a truck lined with cemtex!

Now, a little over 15 years later, we have an awesome city centre us Mancunians can be utterly proud of.

Perhaps a bigger mistake was the inclusion of this footage - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJDeipvpjGQ taken from the game ARMA 2 and saying it was real footage of a British helicopter being shot down by the IRA with Libyan weapons.

The clip was on ITV Player but they have removed the programme, probably to remove the footage above.

EDIT see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6r-kNct630

I suspect this Exposure strand might not last long then.
