Just been catching up on the Tsunami Concert held in Cardiff over the weekend and noticed that throughout the whole programme an 'EXCLUSIVE' dog was displayed in the BBC font beneath the channel name!

Is this 'EXCLUSIVE' dog a first for BBC TV?

Also what are people's views on dogs on the BBC and other tv channels? Are they required on BBC1 and BBC2 or just on the minority channels like BBC Three and Four?

Whilst i'm at it, did regional ITV ever use any dogs?

Exclusive? Is that why it also was on S4C and Five? Confused

Anyway, I don't really have a problem with DOG's myself, I've lived most of my life in the NL and all channels there have one 24/7.
(In fact, when i moved to England, my telly actually looked a bit naked to me Wink )

This was a "behind the scenes" show.

And it's only BBC 2W the digital variant of BBC TWO Wales that has a dog, AKAIK no BBC One or BBC Two region normally carries a dog, BBC 2W only has a dog during it's specific programming, the rest of the day it's normal BBC TWO Wales.

But why? 2W's first DOG vanished within a week due to viewer protests. So why bring it back - did they think we'd not notice?

Apologies - I should have made it clear that the EXCLUSIVE dog was referring to the backstage programme airing tonight.

Whether the EXCLUSIVE dog should have aired throughout the whole programme is debateable mind - as it did contain a large proportion of footage from the concert which wasn't EXCLUSIVE!
