Just something that bugged me today.

Tonight, C4 are screening Robbie Williams Live at Knebworth.

Tomorrow, Radio 1 are also broadcasting Robbie Williams Live at Knebworth. They are advertising this as exclusive.

So what is the definition of exclusive? Can Radio 1 pass it off as exclusive as it is exclusive to radio, or exclusive coverage of the Sunday gig.

Also, the same situation occurs with last nights Tonight exclusive with Tony Martin. Exclusive TV interview, but The Mirror had the exclusive.

And don't get me started on picking up three newspapers in the morning which all have the same World Exclusive.

I was the same with the newspapers during Big Brother!

Every tabloid was the Official Big Brother Paper with all the Exclusive stories from inside the house!

Every paper ran the same stories!

Well in the case of the Robbie thing, I think it's exclusive to channel 4 because they're showing the Saturday Night coverage, and exclusive to Radio 1 because they're broadcasting the Sunday coverage.

Does the Concert really start as late at 9.00pm at Knebworth, or are Channel 4 only showing the second half?

Pure guesswork on my behalf, but I think anything before 9.00 pm is the support - Ash, Moby, Kelly Osbourne etc.

Presumably it also finishes a bit earlier than 11.30pm as well (C4's scheduled cutoff tonight) - I wouldn't imagine they're showing it strictly live, more likely recording to disc and editing as they go.

Radio 1 runs from 7pm to 11 tomorrow night.

Total traffic chaos apparently..

The way Channel 4 screened tonight Robbie Williams gig at Knebworth was "as live". Basically, it was
the complete concert, broadcast with an approx 30 minute delay. The gig was webcast live, via MSN
from about 20:30 onwards, with only the usual 30 second delay you usually get with live webcasts

The 30 minute delay to the TV broadcast, gave C4 the chance to insert ad-breaks, and to give the
concert that god awful filmic effect, which IMHO, somewhat spoiled an otherwise excellent show.

There is no reason why the "filmic" effect can't be done live - many DVEs (as well as some ARCs) offer it as an effect these days - it doesn't have to be done in post.

Didn't notice the filmic effect myself - but how you can think it spoils a show like that I don't understand.

the delay was probably so Ch4 could edit out any Robbie expletives.

The thing that ruined it for me was the end credits were far too much to the left so you missed out the first letter of his title and namesake.

That may have ruined the credits - but it certainly wouldn't ruin the whole programme.
