Turns out he died just a day before his 45th birthday... that really is tragic

Close - it was Gripper, featured on the sketches with Eric the Gardener. Echoing all the above sentiments - his weekend breakfast show on Radio 1 was surreal entertainment at it's best.
Long live (the memory of) Raymond Sinclair.

I can remember listening to his weekend shows on Radio 1 and literally crying with laughter at the sketches. Was it Nipper the dog? Hilarious.

This is really sad news.
So many memories of laughing with him when he was all over the radio 1 schedule.

I remember when he covering Dave Pearce's weekend lunchtime show - he had to do The Recovery Session - one hour of Dance music - the breakfast show for clubbers! All the decks and CD players failed him, he had to play one record then the Top 40 Trailer, then another record, then the Top 40 trailer then another record. He did it with his signature dry wit and low-key enthusiasm.
Funny how some people really get under your skin and make you remember such random stuff about them, but I guess that's why - to most people like us who appreciate it - Kevin Greening was a genius.
It's a sad loss for all those who knew him, or knew his work.

I always thought Kevin would turn up on Radio 2 one day. As lots of people have said, he was a very talented broadcaster, but also a very nice person.
I'm sure I've still got a couple of e-mails from him on my old PC when he worked at Radio 1. His personal responses said it all.

People do just die suddenly without warning, just look at the other tragic death of the Motherwell footballer at the weekend. Just because nothing's being said doesn't mean anything, it's private and there's a very good chance that no-one knows yet
Very sad, his talent was vastly underused

So what did he die of? They're all being rather secretive about it. AIDS?
