Absolutely - he couldn't have been any older than what, mid-30s?
RIP.
He was 44, surprisingly.
I have many happy memories of Saturday and Sunday mornings at work listening to him on the breakfast show, with the very strange but funny comedy bits he did.
I'm not normally one to gush about people who've died on these type of threads, but I'm really, really shocked to read this.
He was a fantastic presenter and by far the person who inspired me most to work in radio. I just loved his under-stated, dry and witty presentational style, self depracation and bizarre comedy characters.
One of those things you just don't expect to see reported.
Sad to hear about this. I confess I heard little of his work, but I know he was a fantastic broadcaster from the amount of praise I heard from everywhere over the past few years. That proves what a talent he must have been, and it's a shame I won't be able to delve deeper and listen to more of his output.
I was listening to Cuddle On The Couch on BBC 3CR earlier and heard his name being mentioned by Nigel Williams. I will have to do a listen again jobby to see what was exactly said. Nigel also dedicated a song to him as well.
