An update on Big Brother Australia, where the housemates entered tonight, but the show won't premiere till tomorrow.
Three secrets have been revealed to the audience at the BBA house - one of them is true.
1 - The prize is $1,000,000 (usually $250,000)
2 - There are two couples in the house (probably ex's)
3 - The house is split into two by a perspex wall (Sweden did this!)
I am a Big Brother fan, but yes, I'd agree that it has become too contrived and full of 'wannabes'. I always watch it every year, and IMO, we need people in there with a bit of character... the best house was BB2 with Helen / Paul and Brian, with lots of arguments, but also chilled times
The people behind Big Brother have contacted us to help spread the word about a new E4 show they are planning on broadcasting throughout the new series which focuses on Big Brother fans and their opinions and views on the show.
Fans will be invited in to the studio and also asked for their views over the phone in this new E4-based show, and Big Brother wants all fans who have something to say on Big Brother to come forward!
"OK, so we all know that Big Brother 5 is on our screens at the end of
the month but did you know the exciting news that this year there will
be a brand-spanking new show on E4 dedicated to YOUR views and opinions
on BB? We will be inviting you to have your say on the forum - in the
studio and on the phone. So, if you are someone who always has something
to say on Big Brother, we want to hear from you now! Please contact us
at: E4show@bigbrother.endemoluk.com "
I may watch Big Brother, but then again, they're painting the fence outside our house on 28th May, so I may go out and watch it dry instead of watching BB, its essentially the same thing!
Although Big Brother does have its plus points over the paint, you can't switch the paint over, for example...
BIG Brother bosses are sending in a former prostitute to sex up this year’s show.
They are lining up the 28-year-old from Merseyside for the series starting on May 28.
She will be joined by a bisexual woman, a former Royal Marine and an asylum seeker. They are among a shortlist of 25 for the Channel 4 show — including three couples, one of them gay.
A show insider said: “The future of Big Brother rests on this series, so they are introducing more wild characters. There will be two houses and boring contestants will be relegated to the ‘dull’ house.”
In the past contestants made it through to the end by staying quiet — but this year they will be kicked out of the main house and nominated for eviction.

Note one bedroom, but a large spacious house, while our house seems to get smaller and smaller. Surely more bitching would occur in a large house where HMs think they can't be heard rather than a small house as planned for BB5.
Well I'm fairly confident that the production team want sex too and the evidence is there:
1. Accepting people who get naked on their auditions (something they have refused in past years)
2. Former prostitute in house
3. 'sex' room / 'romping' shower
4. One shared bedroom
5. Auditioning couples (more likely to have sex than strangers).
Well that will be exciting won't it! The channel starts at 4PM with programmes such as Friends and ER, and any streaming Big Brother on E4 will be overnight, when all the housemates are asleep.
It's possible they'll take a more secretive and subtle approach this year and just reveal info on the show. The hype around Big Brother 4 was probably too much for it too live up to, so this might be a good idea.
PS: Has anyone got any promotional material used from the last 4 years of BB before the launch of the series, especially from series 1 and 2.
