Auditions begin today - are there queues in Glasgow.

But much more interestingly - a Big Brother conception:

Quote:
Baby conceived on Big Brother

A baby has been conceived after two contestants had sex on the Danish version of Big Brother.

It is believed to be the first conception in the history of the reality television show.

Danish TV has been showing intimate scenes between Sissel, 20, and Robert, 21, for the last month.

Sissel was voted out of the house last week and has now announced she is pregnant and expects her child in July.

Reports say the two contestants had known about the pregnancy for about a week but had kept it quiet from the audience, as they wanted to tell their families first.

The Danish Big Brother website says the couple have no immediate plans to marry but are excited about becoming parents.

Talking of "that" Orange advert, does anybody hold a copy of it?
I didn't see it and would be quite interested to see how they filled that time!

Thanks a lot,
Joel.

Big Brother has now launched in the Middle East, with 12 contestants from 12 countries in the house, following the success of Big Brother Africa last summer.

Although the format is still the same, a number of changes have been made to the house such as the addition of prayer rooms and male / female bathrooms.

Well, after protests on the streets and questions in parliament the show has now been pulled. The main issue is men and women sleeping under one roof (although seperate rooms) and unmarried men and women living together. There were also concerns over the 24 hr streaming.

It's a shame - many African countries had similar concerns on BB Africa but in the end it was praised for the way it brought cultures together. Maybe a couple more concessions might have been a good idea - ditching the live streaming and putting the men and women in seperate houses, although with a communal garden.

An unofficial start date for BB5: Fri 21st May, as The Fit Farm begins in the 6pm slot on Monday for a 12 week run, leaving the slot clear for BBLB from Mon 24th May.

Also, the 365 day BB Germany has begun - although only appears to have 9 housemates at the moment, split into 3 areas.

The show debuts at 6pm UK time tonight, and I believe that in the past some forumers have picked it up on digital/cable.

I thought BB5 was starting later than May, in order to avoid a clash with Euro 2004

Unbelievable. I can't really say anything without being accused of being anti-Arab or something. But what I will say is, how backwards will they continue to be in this modern world?

Hmm... I don't think a country can be expected to simply suddenly change their views on everything. It's a religion issue, obviously - people there have lived with their religion every minute of their lives for centuries, and won't give up these views (however "backwards" they may seem to us westerners) just for the sake of being more "modern" in someone else's view. "Modern" can be a very vague concept when put into context of the wider world - it could mean many different things to many different people.
