Eurovision Song Contest - Belgrade 2008

Sadly the videos are in a smaller window than the svt video (however as of yet, svt appear only to have the 1st video online).

Well we should be in for a good show; Sven Stojanovic is directing for the 4th time this year. He did 2003, 2004 and 2005 too (2005 being superbly directed IMO). Does anybody know if the Serbian broadcaster is getting much outside help with this year's broadcast?

Good news that Sven is directing again - I guess his Serbian heritage has helped!

2005 was a brilliant contest - better than 2006 and 2007 IMHO (2006 in particular was a bit disappointing I thought)

Think the regular LD is on board - though the technical facilities are not Prisma this time AIUI. Not sure if SR (Swedish Radio) are doing the sound as they did in Kiev in 2005.

I agree, the 2007 one wasn't the best.
The 2002*, 2004, 2005 ones were better. The 2006 one wasn't that 'amazing', though I think it was better than 2007 (shame about the artefacts/PQ on the DVDs).

I think 2007 was noticably better than 2006. For me 2006 really stuck out as a significantly poorer production - particularly the near-CCTV quality wire/spider cam they used that year.

I quite enjoyed last year - particularly as it was the first year I saw the semi and the final in HD!

Well the straps are terrible. Tahoma! WHAT?

The titles are okay, the music is an instrumental version of the winners song from last year.

I MUCH preferred last years branding. The score board looks bad this year aswell.

At least they're readable this year. Also, note the visible effect of 2 semis - half an audience. A full house would make the production so much better, but it loses something having loads of empty seats visible in shot.
