SVT really show off just how good they are when it comes to MF don't they? They put the likes of RTÉ to shame...2005 was the best-produced eurovision of recent years..no surprise that SVT had huge involvement...likewise with 2003!

Yep - I don't want to even begin to guess how much MF costs - though presumably they sell the tickets rather than giving them away for free - so get some revenue from ticket sales?

Since it was revamped in the early 00s as a multiple round competition rather than a single show it has been amazing.

Well the UK has the worst position in the final - historically ISTR that no (or almost no) songs that compete second have won.

The BBC have to show the second semi ISTR - but no news on whether it will show the first as well (it doesn't have to under EBU rules, but can, though we can only vote in the second semi AIUI)

Hopefully Paddy O'Connell will have commentary duties again - with some nice bits in-vision - though I could do without Ms Cawood this year.

Also - it will be interesting to see if the host line-up changes - as the male host for the contest has also written the Serbian entry this year (he was appointed host before the song was chosen by the Serb TV programme that selects their entry)

BBC Three are showing both semis

I sincerely hope WE DON'T have 'in vision bits' and see the programmes as presented by RTS. The BBC butchered the semi last year. O'Connell can commentate yes, but that should be it.

I don't agree - I see no problem with the BBC filling the ad-break slots just as other broadcasters do. The little bits of VT and interviews backstage add quite a lot to the show IMHO. I suspect we won't get much this year as there are two semis though.

I don't agree with ditching the "interval" act during which voting takes place though. In 2006 they showed it boxed - in 2007 they ditched it entirely.

Hurray - wonder if they will be on BBC HD as well. The final was last year - but the semi wasn't. (Presumably because all the BBC in-vision bits were SD)

Interesting to see the ESCToday poll. Looks like the UK entry is well liked this time. Currently standing at 8th position!

Scooch were scrapping the bottom last year.

It's one of the reasons I've enjoyed the official DVD release ... so clean and without national interruptions.

Yep - though equally - watching clean without any commentary does feel a little "empty". The presentation is kind of designed for commentary over the postcards after all...

And the DVD is, of course, SD only... Wonder how long before they release a BluRay!

Yes, BD please, it was disappointing that 2007 and 2008 contests where not released on a HD format.
With BD now the HD format maybe next year we may get it in HD.
