This year's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest will be chosen on Sat 1st March, according to esctoday.com:

Interesting to note the change of producers as well.

This year, I've submitted a song for entry - I was warned that they don't feel that they'll take songs from unknown composers - but I'd love to think that the song would at least be considered! Can't say much until they actually have announced the acts but I hope I stand at least half a fighting chance...

sorry no offence intended - a joke!

I don't quite see the point of this event the public always chooses crap songs/ contestants anyway. Guess its about giving them the choice though - oh how I do pitty European countries who take it seriously...

Would be nice if, just for once, we could choose a song because it's good, and not because we mistakenly think it will win. It only seems to be us these days who enter the cheesy pop songs, every other country seems to have grown up.

The selection has become a farce in recent years - the public have little choice to choose a crap song because that's all that's on offer.

The trouble is that viewers are always told to choose a song they'd think do well at Eurovision (i.e. camp and crap!), but other countries have moved on and a few recent winners don't fit the Eurovision mould at all.

I think it should be turned into a completely open contest with the public having a much bigger choice of songs to choose from - then make the selection a mini-Eurovision of it's own with a 2 hour show with 16 songs to choose from - with the show done Eurovision style with minimum padding - just a brief VT introducing each artist, song and that's it!

Relieve Old Tel of the presenting duties and put him in the commentary box instead.

Yes, but we won't have a chance what ever way we look at it.
