Are the BBC going to pull out of the credits early like they always do?
They did, they were definitely still scrolling - and too damn fast to read - when it cut to the Eurovision ident.

I might be wrong, but don't they do it as the last few credits are all sponsor logos and therefore they feel it would break the undue prominence rules? Same as how they got Neighbours credits changed because of the logos at the end.

Watching the 1998 credits on YT shows that the BBC thanked "BT, Rover, etc" in the credits, but only in text form. If we did win and have to host, would two credits have to be produced? One for domestic and the rest for the EBU?

I expect they’d just cut the credits early as ever. Home contest or not at most they’d be losing 10 seconds of not particularly interesting content. No need to go to the effort of another set of credits.

Portugal top to almost bottom in one year.

Seems to often be the case with defending champs.

Still not a fan of this voting system - putting so much weighting on the final minute of revealing the results just makes the preceding hour a fairly pointless chore. Much more satisfying seeing the winner build their tally gradually country by country than have it revealed at the end, and as is often the case the winner was the Televote winner anyway. Indeed the jury vote being so different shows how irrelevant they are.

There are two inherent flaws with this 'televote big wodge marks' system.
1 - You know who are the final three are, long before they are annouced.

2 - (and worst) if it's close with the points - they announce the total points for 2nd, and then all attention heads off to the winner. But, the winners total points announcement are lost in a blizzard of screaming, shouting, cheering, clapping and glitter cannons or pyros going off. About 30 seconds later, do you cut back to the scoreboard, and find out the winners final points total.
You build up the tension - and then you knock down two different walls simultaniously.

Problem is - no matter how you alter it - country by country in alphabetical order, or in positional place from last to first after the national jurys, it's going to end up at sharp end of the voting annoucements in this rather 'messy' way.

The messiness of it all is what makes it so fantastic!

Who owns a TV studio in Uxbridge then? Arqiva or somebody? Is it just a shed with a camera in? 😂

I believe IMG manage all the Eurovision downlinking/production and UK jury uplink.

Yes indeed. There’s rather more than a single camera in a shed there !
Look up IMG Stockley Park

Personal views aside, how does Brexit affect our participation once we leave the EU? Will we be treated as a guest participant like Australia and Israel?

Are recent winners Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Norway or Russia members of the EU?

Nothing changes, EBU membership is separate to EU membership, hence countries that aren't EU member states can still be part of the EBU.
