Channel 5 have a ‘When things go horribly wrong’ ESC special edition on right now, and as per usual with these types of programs they’re talking a pile of **** about something they’ve obviously only just been shown 5 minutes previously. Highlights include Andy Abraham blaming his last place on politics as if his song wasn’t crap. Great.

That goes right back to the year Cliff Richard didn't win with 'Congratulations' - anything other than a win gets seen as a bad result here, with the exception of Jade Ewan and Lucie Jones who are the only non-winners I can remember to generally be praised after the contest. Even Jessica Garlick's 3rd place was viewed as a disappointment at the time, but that was (just) in the pre-Jemini era.
