The BBC still like to the think the voting public are stupid. It's ironic though as the app sends a text anyway and Three Mobile customers face difficulty dialling the shortcode numbers.
Interesting to note that SBS, Logo and NPO1 have geo-blocked it. I thought most of the countries if not all would have lifted their blocks for the final.
1. The app does not send a text. It just dials in the mobile dial shortcode for you.
2. Dialling the mobile dial shortcode works on Three just the same as any network, as long as you dial via the network and not using Wi-Fi. This is the case with the many TV votes that take place using the same system.
Really dob't get why they've more than doubled the voting period from 15 to 35 minutes. I know the new voting format does mean they can get on with things as soon as lines close but still can't see any reason for the show being 20 minutes longer than it needs to be.
Does anyone know what happens if you do call the UK number?
A message plays from Graham Norton saying that you cannot vote for the UK from the UK, your vote won't be counted, and that you shouldn't get charged for the call.
