It was, probably, the most memorable performance of the night and scanning the list of songs on Wikipedia I think it's the only one apart from Shake It from Greece that I can remember. It's not in my list of Eurovision classics though!

Ah - Serbia's 'Lane Moje', Bosnia's 'In the Disco', Malta's 'On again Off again', and Belgium's '1 Life' all rang lots of bells.

Wild Dances came at the height of the Ethnopop era. Good song tho.

I'll be the judge of that on May 13th.

The stage has shaped up very nicely. I do prefer last years, but this one is much better than 2015's and is better in many aspects. The producers have been talking about this feature they're calling a 'chandelier' which is made up of light equipment which you can see right at the top of the stage. Can't wait to see how it looks live.

Here's a video of it in action, although it's rather low quality.

Stand in rehersal for Iceland:

In theory, yes. Public voting.

I've probably missed in the previous threads but are Ukraine keeping the new combined results that were introduced by Sweden last year?

It's not a bad stage at all, actually. I find Florian Wieder's stuff really lacking in imagination - everything he does seems to basically be a variant on the X Factor UK 2009 set and that's definitely true of his work on Eurovision.

However, now it's lit, it does look really good. It's certainly not as good as last year but I think we have to prepare for a bit of a downgrade this year.

Not seen anything to suggest they're not.
