Absolutely devastating result for us. It just strengthens the case for a British Melodifestivalen. We have to find something credible and current. Heroes will be all over Capital FM next week, mark my words. We need a song that can do that and get AirPlay on CHR stations on the mainland.
However, the best song won and we are now promised a first class show next year. Fingers crossed Petra Mede is asked back.

Britain is irrelevant in Eurovision and that's the way it is. Nothing is gonna change.

The presser is about to run on the YouTube link, SVT are currently interviewing on stage.

Proof again that people vote on the song, not the politics. The top 6 were clearly the best 6 songs of the night and Russia picking up votes from the West but not getting top marks from their neighbours showed political voting is just a myth.
I disgrace, political voting is NOT a myth, I was able to tell who was going to get the vote from a good number of countries.

Yet we used to come second alot. REMEMBER we come 5th in 2009...

We are something of a running joke. We've been in it almost right from the start and have down not to badly before and won the 5 times, but Australia get asked for the 60th show and didn't really have that long to put it together and yet they came 5th, bloody 5th!!
Maybe we should ask them what they did and bottle it so that we don't keep having these disastrous performances.
I do think some getting people with some sort of A&R success should be involved in deciding the artist for next year.

Keep saying it drop Norton, make it serious it'll put off some people yes, but the impact on others would be appreciated. Give the comms back to Paddy O'Connell too. You can have fun without being derogatory and rude.
A clone boyband would be a start for 2016, and I mean boyband, not some prehistoric hasbeens regurgitated.
Start hitting back now ....
I wish ORF would start the presser it's getting late.

Every year we fail there are two groups of people who tell us how we should approach Eurovision. One believes that we should treat it completely seriously, because other countries do and that's how they win. The other says that the public don't want to take it seriously, it's just one night of fun and we only watch it tongue-in-cheek.
I don't know which of these approaches is the way to go - I know I personally don't follow it until the final, and this is the first year I've properly watched the semi-finals - but surely everyone can agree that how we do it currently is not working. We may not win but we should at least try to finish respectably. If we treat the entire competition as a joke, why should we expect anyone else to take us seriously?
The only thing I can say with confidence is that personally I believe we shouldn't have a pass straight to the final. If our act is not good enough to make it past the semi-finals, then tough. At least we won't have to worry about how badly we'll finish at the bottom of the table every year!

It'll be interesting to see where SVT take things in 2016. In both 2000 and 2013 they have reinvented the Contest and I hope next year is no different.
