I'm currently enjoying the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 Second Semi-Final. Here are my preferences based solely on all of tonight's performances:
Definitely want to qualify: Lithuania, Ireland, San Marino, Montenegro, Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus.
Wouldn't mind qualifying: Norway, Czech Republic, Israel, Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Poland.
Prefer not to qualify: Malta, Iceland.
Definitely don't want to qualify: Portugal, Latvia.

So these are the ones I want to see Saturday night: Lithuania, Ireland, San Marino, Montenegro, Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus; plus three (and no more) of Norway, Czech Republic, Israel, Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Poland.

The UK voted this evening; I voted for Cyprus, Montenegro and San Marino.

Was a mighty slog tonight - one of the dullest Eurovision shows of the last few years.

I didn't think it was too bad a show tonight. I think it's fair to say Sweden have got this, so fingers crossed Petra Mede is asked back and we will be guaranteed a stellar show for what's the true 60th birthday.

To be fair, UK viewers didn't miss that much. Some Conchita, a VT about Austrian contributions to society and the rest of the Big Five interviews were pre-empted, so not a massive deal. Also, Mel was 100% better tonight.

Oh well, on to be the big one on Saturday. It's not the strongest field, and it's very ballad-heavy. I'll be watching the running order reveal with interest.

I don't think Sweden are clear winners. Every poll of ESC fans so far have ranked Italy as front runners and it's fair to say that the juries of 'music professionals' will heavily back the Italian song. I'd say it's a two horse race but not a clear cut winner yet.
