Nobody out of Britain have been saying nul points fully as far as I know.
The fans have also said this would come down to stage performance.
The top comment on Eurovision's copy of the video did and I think it was from Spain.
Still not many countries?
Unfortunately I've been watching some of the Youtube videos of peoples opinions of the current songs from different European countries, should Finland not reach the Final, then I think we're likely to be bottom.
On initially seeing it I thought it was decent enough, something a bit different. I've listened to it a few times now and although the lyrics are pretty awful it's catchy enough and will hopefully stay in people's minds. Although it's not an anthemic track and doesn't pass my credits test!
We really have thrown lots of ideas over recent years. New talent, pop stars, oldies, theatre, 80s, pure cheese - and nothing has stuck. If we're ever to do well it's needs a half decent song, good position on the night, performed well and with something that stands out...as well as a bit of luck.
Let's hope the Aussies give us some points this year.
It's not difficult. The BBC simply needs to get buy in from a big record label and get a decent star to perform a decent song. If the attitude is 'no star would ever lower themselves to doing Eurovision' then that highlights the problem with our attitude to the contest. I repeatedly see and hear Eurovision fans across Europe saying how shocked they are that the UK puts forward such substandard stuff. The perception across the continent is that Sweden and the UK are the music producing countries of Europe. Compare us to our Nordic cousins and you can see why we get such poor results. Even the red button approach shows how little the BBC cares about this nowadays. Such a shame. It would be amazing to have a Melodifiestivalen style show in Britain with all the buzz and fun it creates.
The only good thing I can say for the song is that it's stuck in my head, albeit for annoying rather than enjoyable reasons. I think the potato waffles soundalike might be something to do with it.
It does strike me we're too hung up on trying to write a song for Eurovision rather than just a good song that would fit on the Radio 2 playlist. You could easily have said that about the top two from last year. The competition has changed and owes a lot more to The X Factor-style reality format.

Really. You don't say. I wonder why the BBC haven't thought of that before, as it's not difficult...
You can be as sarcastic as you like about it. The facts speak for themselves. The BBC clearly isn't doing it correctly. Radio 1 and Radio 2 can make or break songs by playlisting them. If the BBC wanted to have a Eurovision winner, it could easily do it.
